Muzyka jaką prezentuje Zenit, nie odbiega zbyt daleko od tego co preferowała na swoich albumach formacjach legendarna już Clepsydra. Nowa płyta składa się z sześciu kompozycji, wśród nich są takie, które prawdziwi prog- maniacy lubią najbardziej, a więc długie i rozbudowane. Pierwsza z nich 12- minutowa „Awaken” rozpoczyna się właśnie charakterystycznym, klasycznym, neoprogresywnym klimatem, takim „wczesnomarillionowym”, z pięknymi gitarowymi solówkami i charakterystycznym brzmieniem klawiszy (tak jakby wyjętym spod palców Marka Kellyego). Jednak gdzieś w połowie tego utworu, jego klimat chwilowo się zmienia, upodabniając się nieco do aury „The Animals” Floydów. Kolejna kompozycja, „Cub Lady” to urokliwa, subtelna, dwuminutowa miniaturka, gitara akustyczna, stonowany basowy podkład i delikatny wokal Lorenza Sonognini. W kolejnym „PiGreco”, jego wokal upodabnia się chyba najbardziej do głosu Petera Gabriela. Również muzycznie pachnie nam tutaj wczesnym Genesis. Kolejna dłuższa kompozycja, to „Matrimandir”, śpiewana jakimś dziwnym dialektem, posiada pewien etniczny klimat, osobiście kojarzy mi się to z francuskim Minimum Vital. Natomiast „Pulsar”, to instrumentalna kompozycja z licznymi przejściami i zmianami tempa. Album wieńczy, najdłuższa, prawie 25 minutowa suita „The Daydream Suite”, która również nie odżegna się od porównań do wczesnego Genesis.
Płyta “The Chandrasekhar Limit” pełna jest więc wyraźnych nawiązań, do sprawdzonych, klasycznych, progresywnych wzorców i pewnie Andy Thommen zakładając Zenit, nie miał zamiaru penetrować i wytyczać nowych trendów w muzyce. Słuchanie tego co stworzył, bez wątpienia sprawi wiele przyjemności nie jednemu sympatykowi neo- progresywnych dźwięków. I o to chyba właśnie chodzi?
