Shout Out Louds postanowiło odejść na chwilę – by wrócić po trzech latach milczenia z dobrze wykonanym czwartym LP o nazwie Optica. Ich szorstki lo-fi został już zapomniany, zwłaszcza z LP Work (2010) gdzie wydawało się, że Skandynawii zaczęło brakować pomysłu.
Adam Olenius i jego zespół podejmują nieco inny tor, jeśli chodzi o Optice. Łączą zdolność do tworzenia popowych momentów i dźwięków z fali lat 80. W otwierającym płytę psychodelicznym, utworze Sugar, Olenius śpiewa „Teraz wiem, co szukałem przez ten czas”. Już po trzech utworach wydaje się, że ten styl definiuje ich idealnie.
Optica wydaje się nowa a jednocześnie znajoma. Jeśli byłeś/łaś fanem SOL już wcześniej, pokonasz ich ponownie. Jeśli zagubiłeś się na tej drodze w ciągu ostatnich lat, będziesz mógł wrócić. „Zmiana jest zawsze dobra” śpiewa Olenius w ostatnim utworze Destroy. Zniszcz swoje przyzwyczajenia i odbuduj coś nowego. To naprawdę satysfakcjonujące jak grupa znajomych zebrała się i udowodniła, że istnieje lepsze życie po całym hype.
