Christian Marquand (15 de marzo de 1927 - 22 de noviembre de 2000) fue un director, actor y guionista francés que trabajó en el cine francés. Nacido en Marsella, de padre español y madre árabe, su hermana era la directora de cine Nadine Trintignant. Se le puede ver como un rompecorazones en las películas francesas de la década de 1950.
Carrera
Su primera aparición en el cine fue en La Belle et la Bête de Jean Cocteau en 1946. Se lo vio por primera vez en Lucrèce Borgia (1953) de Christian-Jaque como el amante de Lucrezia. En 1956 Roger Vadim lo dirigió en Et Dieu créa la femme (Y Dios creó a la mujer) junto a Brigitte Bardot.
Apareció como el líder del comando naval francés Philippe Kieffer en The Longest Day que lo llevó a papeles posteriores en películas producidas en Estados Unidos como Lord Jim y The Flight of the Phoenix. Más tarde interpretó al líder de un grupo de franceses en Apocalypse Now Redux.
Marquand dirigió dos películas, la más famosa de las cuales fue Candy (1968).
Vida personal
Marquand estaba casado con la actriz francesa Tina Aumont en la década de 1960. Murió cerca de París de la enfermedad de Alzheimer, a los 73 años. Era amigo cercano de Marlon Brando, quien nombró a su hijo Christian en su honor, al igual que del director francés Roger Vadim. wiki
