Mark Pellington (2)

Mark Pellington (nacido el 17 de marzo de 1962) es un director de cine, escritor y productor estadounidense.

Vida y carrera
Pellington nació en Baltimore, Maryland. Se graduó de la Universidad de Virginia en 1984, a la que asistió con una beca deportiva. Trabajó en MTV desde 1984 hasta 1990 ganando premios como productor de promoción y creó el programa de televisión emblemático Buzz.

Se convirtió en director independiente en 1990 y realizó videos para U2, Crystal Waters, De la Soul y Pearl Jam. Su video para "Jeremy" de Pearl Jam ganó muchos premios MTV en 1993. En 1994, su video musical para la canción de Whale "Hobo Humpin 'Slobo Babe" ganó el primer premio MTV Europe Music Award por Mejor Video.

Dirigió Arlington Road en 1999 protagonizada por Tim Robbins y Jeff Bridges, así como The Mothman Prophecies en 2002, protagonizada por Richard Gere que lidiaba con misteriosas muertes predichas por una extraña criatura voladora de ojos rojos, Mothman.

Pellington también ha trabajado con artistas musicales como Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, U2, Michael Jackson, Public Enemy, Chelsea Wolfe y Bruce Springsteen.

También ha aparecido en cameo en The Mothman Prophecies, Almost Famous y Jerry Maguire. Dirigió la miniserie histórica The United States of Poetry para PBS en 1995, que ganó el Premio INPUT (Televisión Pública Internacional), numerosos programas de televisión exitosos como Blindspot y Cold Case, así como numerosos comerciales y películas de arte personal.

En cine, también codirigió U2 3D (2005), Henry Poole Is Here (2008), I Melt with You (2011), The Last Word (2017) con Shirley MacLaine y Amanda Seyfried y la próxima película Nostalgia, con Jon Hamm, Ellen Burstyn, Catherine Keener y Bruce Dern.
