Decompressor with multi - format and encrypted password manager.
BetterZip is a multiformat compressor and decompressor, compatible with most formats, offering unique features such as password manager for encrypted files, file encryption with AES-256 algorithm and editing files without extracting them .

With the password manager BetterZip you can open password protected from a master key files. BetterZip will search the appropriate password. Furthermore, BetterZip generates its own files compressed using the AES-256 algorithm.

But the most interesting feature is that it allows BetterZip edit the contents of the ZIP or RAR shift with an external application, such as TextEdit, Photoshop or Office without extracting files out. On the other hand, BetterZip also shows images and documents using Quick Look of OS X.

And last but not least, BetterZip will give information about the space occupied by each file, the read and write permissions, the appropriate format and Modification date.

Integration with other applications
- The new Finder extension puts all your presets in the Finder toolbar. Select some files in Finder, click the BetterZip button and choose one of the presets drop - down menu to create a file with these files. Of course, you can also invoke any of its predefined extraction settings selected files.
- BetterZip 4 lets you define as many services as you want instead of the two preconfigured offering earlier versions. Use the Tools menu in the preset settings to add a service for the preset with the name you choose.
- BetterZip 4 also comes with Automator actions to extract and compress as part of a workflow.
- And BetterZip 4 interacts well with other applications like Alfred, LaunchBar and DropZone.
- All this is possible thanks to improved compatibility with AppleScript.

Favorites sidebar received some love
In the new version you can rename, copy, move and delete files, open a file in a new window or a new tab, view and edit files in multiple volumes as a single element. You can also choose to display all files in the sidebar instead of just the files. Moreover, the Finder labels!

New bar drop
Drop files into the new bar placement areas of placement for your favorite presets to compress or extract them instantly.

Navigation bar
Drill into folders by double clicking on them as in Finder. A path above the content folder file that lets you easily navigate all the main folders and allows you to place items directly on them is shown.
