What she fears is the commitment and huge change that would come with them being together. Carson has had the chance to come to terms with Ruby being his mate but fights the urge to just claim Ruby. He wants her to want to become his mate and stay with him because it is what she really wants and he is willing to give her the time she needs to make that decision. Ruby is a nice smart girl who is set in her ways and Carson is more adventurous and doesn't have a problem telling Ruby exactly what he'd like. Their relationship moves fast but is still sweet and steamy. There is no question of their compatibility in bed but to be together sacrifices will need to be made from both sides for their relationship to be permanent.
