Ray McCarey (1)

Ray McCarey (6 de septiembre de 1904 - 1 de diciembre de 1948) fue un director de cine estadounidense, hermano del director Leo McCarey.

Carrera
McCarey comenzó a trabajar en Hal Roach Studios, donde trabajó en cortometrajes con Our Gang y Laurel and Hardy. También trabajó con Roscoe Arbuckle, The Three Stooges, Lucille Ball, Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong y Dorothy Dandridge, entre muchos otros. La mayor parte de su trabajo en largometrajes consistió en películas de bajo presupuesto.

Era el hermano del director Leo McCarey y de vez en cuando se acreditaba como Raymond McCarey pero generalmente como Ray McCarey.

Muerte
El 2 de diciembre de 1948 Ray fue hallado muerto de rodillas junto a su cama. Según el San Bernardino County Sun, se encontraron dos frascos de prescripción médica vacíos junto a su cama. Su hermano mayor, el director Leo McCarey, dijo que había estado enfermo durante varios meses. La causa oficial de la muerte fue el suicidio.
