Whip-staff is a kind of short martial arts weapon, popular in the west of China. In fact, this kind of weapon is exactly an ordinary cudgel, a short stick, easily made and conveniently carried. In fight, it is used as a weapon; in leisure time, as a cane. It is popular with the folk martial arts learners and used very widely. this set of whip staff techniques is very changeable, rich in content and unique. both the tip and the handle are used together. Shaolin Rouquan is an inner strength exercise of the Shaolin School of martial arts. It is said to be created originally by the Second Master Hui Ke of the Songshan Shaolin Temple, consisting of 3 sets of Rouquan exercises. It was taught only to the senior monks of the temple and only within the temple's compound, not to be spread to the outside world.
