Biografia

Above & Beyond to grupa trzech producentów: Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness oraz Paavo Sijam. Osiągnęli niebywały sukces dołączając do czołówki gwiazd z najwyższej półki, co potwierdza 6 tegorocznych nominacji do International Dance Music Awards w Miami. Ich debiutancki album „Tri-state” został oceniony jako znakomity (5/5) prze DJ Magazine i został uznany jako jeden z najlepszych albumów elektronicznych 2006. The Sun, największy w wielkiej Brytanii brukowiec opisał „Tri Star” jako jeden z najoryginalniejszych albumów trance, nie opuszczał ściślej 10 najlepszych albumów na iTunes przez ponad 3 miesiące.

Album składa się z 13 oryginalnych

utworów napisanych przez chłopaków włączając singiel "Air For Life" (zwycięzca najlepszego undergroundowego utworu 2006 IDMA) z Andy Moorem, „Alone Tonight” (niesamowity - Mixmag) czy Can’t Sleep (5/5 Sureplayer, DJ Magazine). 4 singiel z albumu Good For Me’ powstał przy udziale Zoe Johnston znanej ze współpracy z Faithless i Bent. Pierwszym znaczącym kawałkiem, który pozwolił im zaistnieć był remix Madonny „What it Feels Like For A Girl”. Madonnie spodobał się tak bardzo, że postanowiła stworzyć do niego teledysk zamiast pierwszej wersji tego kawałka. Od tego czasu Above & Beyond wydali remixy takich twórców jak Dido, Britney Sarah McLachlan, ale tak na prawdę ich solowe produkcje zaczęły przyciągać fanów z całego świata. “Far From In Love”, “No One On Earth”, single z Tri-State and OceanLab “Sky Falls Down” i “Satellite” (UK Top 20) jeszcze przez długi czas były nucone niczym hymn. Radio 1 Pete Tonga opisało grupę jako nowe super gwiazdy Trance w UK.

Above & Beyond, w co tygodniowym show radiowym na całym świecie przyczyniają się do rozwoju słuchania muzyki poprzez Internet. Audycje stoją na czele audycji trancowych i gdzie wiele z granych kawałków stało się później hitami. W 2004 roku w rankingu DJ Mag zostali uplasowani w najlepszej 20-stce DJ’ów, późniejsze edycje to dobrze znany Top 100 DJ’s poll. Above & Beyond grają na największych światowych imprezach i eventach oraz są na najlepszej drodze aby zostać rezydentami klubu Cream Amnesia na Ibizie. Wystąpili również w Polsce, m.in. podczas RMI Trance X-plosion 2004, Sunrise Festival 2006 czy Sensation Polska 2006. Stworzyli również swój własny label Anjunabeats. Above & Beyond tworzą także pod innymi zastepczymi przydomkami jak Aalto, Free State, Jono Grant, Nitromethane, Oceanlab, P.O.S and Tranquility Base, Dirt Devils. Natomiast ich obecny pseudonim muzyczny był pierwotną nazwą remixu jaki nagrali dla Chakry „Home”.
