TV Movie - 90 min - Thriller A neglectful mother overhears her husband on the telephone at their workplace talking with their babysitter. She discovers they are having an affair and are going to have a baby. She concocts an evil plan to win back her husband and remove the girl and baby. Two men are hired to kill the girl and hold the son hostage in order for her to play the hero and reclaim her husband. The plan hits a snag when the criminals enter the wrong apartment. The babysitter (Ann) phones the husband at the shop (store) that he and his wife jointly run (I think). The wife hears the receptionist put through the call from Ann to her husband and surreptitiously picks up an extension phone. Now, this may be a goof, since this is a fairly large workshop, making jewellery, and one might suppose that they have a small PABX exchange and each phone is on a separate line. Anyway, the wife overhears that the babysitter is having a bay with the husband and it all snowballs from there... I post this because I don't, having just watched this scene, understand why the film is titled Baby Monitor: Sound of Fear. The Baby Monitor does figure in a few scenes but was not how the wife discovered her husband's infidelity... But when Ted marries Clare, who has two children herself, he wants to see Willie more and more often. At first Abbey welcomes this, because it leaves her time for her career. But when she sees that Willie suffers from the situation and wants to reduce the time Willie spends with Ted's family, he decides that he wants care and custody - and goes to court. His chances to win are good. Based on an authentic case. Single Mom Abbey is upset when her ex-husband wants to share custody of their 6 year-old son. She objects to every-other weekend visitation, and flatly refuses to allow the son to spend afternoons at his Dad's, even though she is at work during this time and the child is in day-care. She also resists any input from the Dad on their son's upbringing, calling him "controlling." Faced with the inability to cooperate on raising the son that is his, too, the Dad sues for custody. His argument is that since both he and the Mom work out of home during the day, there is no reason that the Mom should automatically be the custodial parent.
