Psybient
Psybient - to rodzaj muzyki elektronicznej łączący elementy psychedelic trance, ambientu oraz world music. Nazwa wzięła się z połączenia słów "PSYchedelic" i "amBIENT".
Historia[edytuj]

Psybient, nazywany także jako "ambient psy" bądź też "ambient goa" czy też "psychill", jest związany z ewolucją muzyki goa i psytrance. Album, który wyznaczył nowy trend na tej scenie, była wydana w 1998 roku debiutancka płyta Shpongle (Raja Ram i Simon Posford) o nazwie "Are You Shpongled?". Chociaż należy dodać, że wolniejsze utwory w gatunku goa/psytrance zdarzały się już wcześniej, to jednak wspomniana płyta przetarła szlak pod nowy styl, dziś nazywany psybientem.

Prawdopodobnie najwcześniejszym albumem sceny goa zawierającym chill-outowe utwory był wydany w 1995 roku Mystical Experiences The Infinity Project. Aczkolwiek, jak już wspomniano, kluczowy był debiut Shpongle w 1998 roku. Mimo olbrzymiego sukcesu płyty Are You Shpongled?, psybient wciąż nie rozwinął się na wielką skalę, a na pewno nie stanowił "konkurencji" dla stylu, z którego powstały jego korzenie. Z biegiem kilku następnych lat to się zmieniło. Powstało wiele projektów, a ich wydania niekiedy osiągały sukcesy, o jakich psytrance'owi artyści mogli tylko marzyć.
