Playdate

Playdate to konsola stworzona przez amerykańską firmę Panic Inc przy współpracy ze szwedzkim Teenage Engineering i ogłoszony po raz pierwszy na okładce magazynu Edge. Playdate ma wymiary 76 na 74 na 9 mm i waży 86 g. Na pokładzie niepozornego urządzenia znajdziemy procesor o częstotliwości taktowania 168 MHz, 16 MB pamięci RAM oraz 4 GB wbudowanej pamięci na gry.

Ekran Playdate to LCD o przekątnej 2,7 cala i rozdzielczości 400 na 240 pikseli. Konsola posiada łączność Bluetooth, WiFi oraz wejścia USB-C i jack 3,5 mm.

Jednym z głównych elementów konsoli jest niepozorna korbka, która - wbrew oczekiwaniu wielu - nie służy do ładowania urządzenia. Wraz z D-padem oraz dwoma przyciskami funkcyjnymi, korbka służy do sterowania w grach. Jak mówią dotychczasowi recenzenci, korbka jest niezwykle czuła.

Playdate nie jest starą konsolπą, ale wybitnie nawiązuje do stylu retro. Budowa urządzenia (wraz z ograniczeniami technicznymi) prowokuje do tworzenia grywalnych, nieszablonowych i pomysłowych tytułów. Znajdujące się w tym katalogu gry są legalne i darmowe.

It seems that this game crashes quite often once starting a second/third run. It is difficult to debug from the sim and Panic doesn't ship PDs to my location currently so it's quite hard for me to fix, however restarting the game should fix things.

Famed lady adventurer Birmingham McQueen has found herself deep inside an Emerald Mine in the darkest regions of West Sussex. What exactly an Emerald Mine is doing in West Sussex, how the nefarious folks running it have somehow amassed a small legion of child labourers without alerting the local authorities, and how McQueen are things that can only be recounted as part of an epic saga full of adventure, romance and really, really clever environment puzzles.

Unfortunately, none of that is covered in this game. Still, having foiled the gang of malicious miners, McQueen is now faced with the daunting task of somehow getting all the kids back out of the mine, with only a bunch of minecarts to hand. Highly explosive minecarts at that, prone to blowing up at the slightest provocation.

Still, these kids are about to find out where Birmingham McQueen is also known by another moniker... The Queen of Minecarts.

This is a game for the Playdate if you can't tell from the one-bit visuals and the tags, by the way.

A puzzle game made with Playdate Pulp where you need to collect all the gold bars in the room to open the exit to the next room. You're followed by snakes after every step, so you can't backtrack. You will probably get stuck, but you can reset the level (or the whole game, if you want) and try again! Try to make it to the end to see the surprise twist ending.

Trapdoors is a little puzzle game made for the Playdate console.

You are a trapdoor operator and your task is to help wandering blobs fall into the hatch of the same color as theirs.

Each blob that falls into the correct hatch increases the score, whereas an incorrect fall will decrease it, so be careful!
