After a rocky divorce, Caroline Giblin (Connie Sellecca) could use a fresh start. With her bags packed and her reluctant daughter by her side, she sets out for her quaint hometown of Mayville just in time for Christmas. Caroline finds that not much has changed back home, including her one-time fiancé Clay Traynor (Randy Travis), who is as stubborn as ever. When Caroline and Clay discover a young boy named William squatting in the basement of her grandmother's former house, Caroline wants to let him stay, but Clay is reluctant and secretly contacts the authorities, causing the two to return to their old, bickering ways. Will Caroline and Clay remain at odds...or will this be A Holiday to Remember?

Innanzitutto la 'storia': un campione automobilistico va in vacanza a Gstaad con la giovane amante che ha l'età di sua figlia. La quale gli esibisce un innamorato che invece ha l'età di papà o giù di lì. Nello stesso albergo si trovano anche un chirurgo plastico con la moglie da cui si è separato e un'operaia che ha vinto una vacanza con Ron Moss, il divo di "Beautiful". Tentando di rinverdire i fasti del Feydeau de "L'albergo del libero scambio" i nostri si muovono a ritmo di equivoci. Le parolacce questa volta sono sotto controllo mentre le allusioni pesanti no. Ecco allora problemi di erezione a ripetizione con effetti collaterali da Viagra in funivia e altre amenità simili. Vogliamo richiamarci a Plauto e alla sua 'volgarità alta'? E richiamiamoci, anche se questo non farà vendere un biglietto in più. Come vedete ci stiamo sforzando di parlare bene del 'film' di Natale. Peccato che non ci riesca, anche per la presenza della Barbera che, dopo aver fallito a "Striscia la notizia" canta fuori dal coro anche qui.
