Vengeance (Italian: Joko - Invoca Dio... e muori, German: Fünf blutige Stricke) is a 1968 Spaghetti Western film written and directed by Antonio Margheriti. It starred Richard Harrison, Mariangela Giordano and Luciano Pigozzi.

Plot
Joko, Richie, Domingo and Mendoza hatch a plan to steal gold from bandits. Domingo, however, betrays them by revealing the attempted theft to the bandits. Joko, Ricky and Mendoza are thus discovered during the robbery: Mendoza dies while trying to cover the escape of his friends. Ricky escapes with the gold but is captured by 5 bandits and tortured in an attempt to be revealed where he was to meet with Joko.

When the bandits understand that Ricky won't speak, they dismember him by tying his limbs with ropes to horses. Joko thus begins his personal war to avenge his dead comrades and first kills Domingo, the traitor, and then sets off in search of the 5 bandits who killed Ricky: to each bandit, before killing him, Joko throws a piece of bloodied rope collected. from those used to dismember Ricky. Joko, however, knows only 4 of the 5 bandits: the discovery of the identity of the last one will reserve him a bitter surprise. During the hunt for the assassins, Joko will also have to understand the role of a mysterious detective who follows him like a shadow in all his movements.

Plot
Lu Rogers, recently widowed, leaves her children in New York with her mother-in-law in 1911 and travels west to take a job she has been offered. Upon arriving in Arizona, the job falls through, so rancher Aggie Gates tries her out as a hired hand.

The resourceful Lu succeeds at work and catches the eye of two potential suitors, Dan Jones, a saloon owner, and Pat Collins, a rancher. A crooked sheriff is exposed by Lu, who is shocked by being offered his job. The humiliated sheriff pulls a holdup and kidnaps her.

A posse is formed and comes to Lu's rescue. She receives reward money and uses it to send for her kids. Dan wins her hand, while Pat accepts her badge.

Premise
Gold is discovered in 1866. The U.S. Army built a road and fort on territory ceded to the Sioux by an earlier treaty. Along Came Jones is a 1945 American Western comedy film directed by Stuart Heisler and starring Gary Cooper, Loretta Young, William Demarest, and Dan Duryea. The film was adapted by Nunnally Johnson from the novel Useless Cowboy by Alan Le May. It was the only feature film produced by Cooper during his long film career.

Much of the film was shot at the Iverson Movie Ranch in Chatsworth, California. Cooper had previously worked at the movie ranch in The Lives of a Bengal Lancer (1935) and other productions. Cooper had a Western town built at the movie ranch for Along Came Jones; this Western set was subsequently used in many other productions over the next 20 years and became a fixture in B-Westerns in particular.

Premise
Easygoing Melody Jones (Gary Cooper) and his friend George Fury (William Demarest) wander into a town. Jones is mistaken for a wanted bandit named Monte Jarrad (Dan Duryea), which causes him no end of trouble. Meanwhile, the real Jarrad is hiding out in the home of his girl, Cherry de Longpre (Loretta Young). At first, she tries to use the newcomer to distract the townsfolk, but as she gets to know Jones, her feelings start to change.

The film spoofs many Western film cliches as well as the Western persona that Cooper played in previous films, such as the lead character being unable to shoot straight and partial to singing "silly songs" while riding his horse.

Treść
Bracia Earpowie przepędzali swoje stado bydła w okolicy osady Tombstone. Udali się tam pozostawiając na straży Jamesa. Po powrocie okazało się, że został on zamordowany, a stado ukradzione. Wyatt Earp wkrótce zostaje szeryfem Tombstone i musi rozprawić się, a zarazem zemścić, na klanie Clantonów – bandytów, którzy zastraszają okolicę. Pomaga mu w tym wierny towarzysz, nadużywający alkoholu „Doc” Holliday.

Nie była to pierwsza próba ekranizacji tej powieści, ale jest inna w podejściu do tematu. Faktem jest, że Stuart Lake znał Wyatta Earpa i opowieść o nim jest w większości oparta na jego relacji, ale John Ford również znał Earpa osobiście i dowiedział się od niego paru rzeczy, które inaczej ujmowała książka. Ford z jednej strony uczynił z tego filmu hołd dla Wyatta Earpa, z drugiej dla kształtującego się społeczeństwa Dziki Zachód.

Prawa filmowe do realizacji Jima Ringo były pierwotnie zakupione przez Columbia Pictures, gdzie w główną rolę wcielić się miał John Wayne. Aktor pomimo dużego zainteresowania, propozycję zdecydował się odrzucić, ze względu na brak sympatii do prezesa wytwórni, Harry’ego Cohna. Columbia odsprzedała prawa 20th Century Fox, a w roli głównej wystąpił Gregory Peck. Film Wayne’a Rewolwerowiec z 1976, często bywa porównywany do Jima Ringo, ze względu na liczne podobieństwa w fabule[2].

Scenariusz filmu został luźno oparty na rzekomej historii zachodniego rewolwerowca Johnny’ego Ringo, odległego kuzyna rodziny Younger.

Distant Drums is a 1951 American Florida Western film directed by Raoul Walsh and starring Gary Cooper. It is set during the Second Seminole War in the 1840s, with Cooper playing an Army captain who destroys a fort held by the Spanish gunrunners then retreats into the Everglades while pursued.

The actual location of the fort in the film was the historic Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Florida, where most of the filming took place.

The enduring legacy of the film is that it contains the earliest known use of the Wilhelm scream sound effect, originally used to vocalize a character being bitten by an alligator.

Plot

Mari Aldon and Richard Webb in Florida for the movie premiere.
In 1840, U.S. Army General Zachary Taylor sends out naval Lieutenant Tufts and scout Monk to a remote Florida island home, where the reclusive Captain Quincy Wyatt lives with a 5-year-old son.

The soldiers' mission is to destroy an old Spanish fort used by gunrunners, and rescue men and women taken prisoner by Seminole warriors. One of them, Judy Beckett, develops a romantic attraction to Capt. Wyatt as they flee the Natives into the Everglades.

Most of the other Army troops are massacred after Wyatt and Tufts separate from them to construct canoes. Back at his home, Wyatt is distraught to find that his son is gone. He has an underwater fight to the death with Seminole chief Ocala, then is relieved to learn that his boy is safe.

Fabuła:
Film jest opowieścią o heroicznym stróżu prawa („człowieku, który był zbyt dumny, aby uciekać” – cytat z plakatu filmowego), który w pojedynkę broni zastraszonych i bojaźliwych mieszkańców miasteczka przed czwórką rewolwerowców-bandytów. Początkowo liczy na wsparcie swych zastępców i mieszkańców; z czasem przekonuje się jednak, że może liczyć jedynie na siebie i na swoją dopiero co poślubioną małżonkę.

Film odbierany był jako sztuka moralizatorska, a jednocześnie alegoria ówczesnej sytuacji politycznej w Stanach Zjednoczonych opanowanej przez poszukiwanie rzeczywistych i wyimaginowanych zwolenników komunizmu przez Komisję senatora Josepha McCarthy’ego (makkartyzm). Niektórzy interpretowali film także w nawiązaniu do zimnej wojny i ówczesnej polityki Stanów Zjednoczonych w obliczu konfliktu koreańskiego...

Plot
In 1876, the North-West Mounted Police send Constable Duncan MacDonald (Tyrone Power) and a blackmailed Blackfoot scout (Thomas Gomez) to get the Cree to sign Treaty 6 with The Crown. Initially hostile, the Cree are influenced by a Fata Morgana type mirage that they mistake for the power of Queen Victoria.

In addition to negotiating with the Cree, MacDonald of the Mounted rescues white hostages (Robert Horton and Penny Edwards), arrests a murderer, and adopts a Cree son (Anthony Earl Numkena).

Major Howell Brady (Jeff Chandler), a cavalry officer, is sent from Washington, D.C. to Fort Clark, Texas, to subdue a Kiowa uprising that has been raiding both white settlements and villages on Seminole reservations. Brady requests that the post commander Colonel Meade (John McIntire) send his troops out in fast moving small units to engage the Kiowa but the Colonel fears his men would be slaughtered in piecemeal actions and only feels the Kiowa are impressed by large numbers of troops.

Together with his two sergeants, Brady enlists the help of the Seminole chief, Maygro (Henry Brandon), by giving him $500 and promising his people food and land. The three of them arm 25 Seminoles with state of the art Henry repeating rifles and train them as counter guerrillas; luring the Kiowa in then ambushing them. Col. Meade and his officers resent Brady's interference and mistrust the Seminoles...

Plot
Frontiersman Elias "Big Eli" Wakefield (Lancaster) decides to leave 1820s Kentucky and move to Texas with his son "Little Eli" (Donald MacDonald). Along the way, they run into two women who take a liking to the pair, indentured servant Hannah (Dianne Foster), who wants to go with them, and schoolteacher Susie (Diana Lynn), who would rather have Big Eli marry her and settle down. Big Eli also has to deal with villainous Stan Bodine (Matthau), who cracks a bullwhip.

The movie also features an appearance by the famed sternwheel riverboat Gordon C. Greene, the same steamboat used in Gone with the Wind and Steamboat Round the Bend.

Plot
Sandy McKenzie (Stewart Granger) sets out on his last hunt with his new partner, the obsessive Charles Gilson (Robert Taylor). While McKenzie has grown tired of buffalo hunting, Gilson derives a pleasure from his "stands" – killing an entire herd of buffalo at one time. When Gilson chases down and kills an Indian raiding party, he takes an Indian woman and her child captive. The presence of the native woman causes tension and Gilson becomes increasingly paranoid and deranged, leading to a stand-off between the two former partners.

In the final scene, McKenzie and the woman emerge from shelter to find that Gilson, though wearing a buffalo hide as protection from the cold, has frozen to death during the night, while waiting to ambush them.

Plot
In the 1880s, Griff Bonnell, and his brothers, Wes and Chico, arrive in the town of Tombstone in Cochise County, Arizona. Griff is a reformed gunslinger, now working for the Attorney General's office, looking to arrest Howard Swain for mail robbery.

Swain is one of landowner Jessica Drummond's forty hired guns. She runs the territory with an iron fist, permitting the town to be terrorized and trashed by her brother, Brockie Drummond, and his boys. Brockie is an arrogant drunk and bully, but he goes too far by shooting vision-impaired town Marshal, Chisolm in the leg. Thereupon, Brockie and his drunken friends start trashing the town.

Griff intervenes and pistol-whips Brockie with a single blow while Wes covers him with a rifle from the gunsmith shop. Aware of how close Brockie is to his sister, Griff makes it a point not to crack Brockie's skull. Jessica delivered Brockie when their mother gave birth for the last time.

Wes falls in love with Louvenie Spanger, the daughter of the town gunsmith, so he decides to settle down and become the town's marshal. Griff becomes romantically involved with Jessica after she is dragged by a horse during a tornado...

Opis fabuły

Przywozi ciało poszukiwanego przestępcy i u miejscowego szeryfa próbuje odebrać wyznaczoną nagrodę. Dwudziestoletni szeryf Ben Owen (Anthony Perkins) funkcję pełni od niedawna i jest niedoświadczony. Popada w konflikt z miejscowymi bandytami, na czele z Bartem Bogardusem. Hickman – nieakceptowany przez większość mieszkańców i nocujący u samotnej matki – bierze młodzieńca pod opiekę i uczy postępowania z przestępcami. Nabyte umiejętności przydadzą się w pościgu za sprawcami napadu na dyliżans. Gdy przestępcy są już schwytani, Owens i Hickman muszą przeciwstawić się Bogardusowi, który domaga się linczu na schwytanych, mając poparcie mieszkańców miasta.
