Set against some brilliantly bizarre digitally-animated set pieces, the film's characters couple, triple, and so forth with remarkable indifference to gender, species, or physiological make-up. This film was screened at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival.

Jeśli chodzi o akcję to nie ma tu jakiejś stałej linii fabularnej, a jedynie luźno połączone ze sobą (jedynie motywem zombie i efektów gore) sceny stosunków płciowych ludzi i żywych trupów. Film rozpoczyna się jak rasowy horror: po pustej ulicy tuła się lekko utykając młoda kobieta (Sierpa Sin), która na pierwszy rzut oka przypomina trupa. Seryjny morderca (Dirty Harry), który porywa swe ofiary na uboczach dróg podjeżdża samochodem i zabiera kobietę ze sobą, która wbrew oczekiwaniom zupełni się nie opiera. Morderca przywozi swą nową zdobycz do domu, zostawia Sierre w ówcześnie przygotowanym dole, a po kilku chwilach wraca z wielkim toporem, by spostrzec, że dziewczyna znikła. Jednak nie na długo, gdyż ta po krótkim czasie atakuje go w dość specyficzny, perwersyjny i nekrofilski sposób.
Na wstępie należałoby wspomnieć o reżyserze. Jest nim Rob Rotten. Pan ten założył własną punkrockową wytwórnię porno Porn For Punx, w której razem ze swą dziewczyną i partnerką filmową Rachel Rotten, oraz przy współpracy kilku innych "punk ślicznotek" kręcą dość undergroundowy filmy porno. Jednym z zainteresowań Roba i Rachel są horrory. Nic, więc dziwnego, że wspólnymi siłami postanowili nakręcić mieszankę porno z filmem grozy. Inne ich znane filmy to "Little Runaway" i "Fuck the System" łączące film porno z filmem o punkach.
Ale wróćmy do filmu. Początek jest dosyć obiecujący: zombie snujące się po opustoszałej ulicy, jakość filmu ze wszystkimi skazami, plamkami typowymi dla starych filmów, niepokojąca muzyka… Niestety później jest już znacznie gorzej. Dostajemy mieszankę ostrych scen porno, gwałtów żywych trupów na ludziach, a to wszystko okraszone niewielką ilością marnych scen gore (ucztowanie na jelitach wyciąganych z korpusu, odgryzanie członka). Jeżeli chodzi o charakteryzację chodzącej śmierci to jest ona fatalna, twórcy mogli się chociaż trochę postarać, a tak otrzymujemy jedynie ludzi pomalowanych na bródny-brązowy i ochlapanych odrobiną sztucznej krwi. Jeżeli chodzi o samo wykonanie to jest ono ciekawe, undergroundowe i awangardowe. Skaczące ujęcia z ciekawych perspektyw, rozkołysana kamera, nienaturalne światło – wszystko to miało na celu udziwnienie i tak już dziwacznego tworu. Co do scen kopulacyjnych to jest to najzwyklejsze hard porno, które możemy obejrzeć w każdym filmie od 18 lat. Recenzując Porn of the Dead nie sposób nie wspomnieć o muzyce. Nie jeden fan horrorów będzie nią zachwycony, gdyż ścieżka dźwiękowa to utwory takich zespołów jak Impaled, Deicide, Exmortem, Decapitated, Gorerotted i Blood Red Thrown, czyli sama śmietanka death metalu, grindcoru i goregrindu - same brutalne, szybkie i bluźniercze dźwięki przepełnione growlem i jękami.

Porn of the Dead nie polecam raczej fanom horrorów z elementami erotyki, czy pornografii jednak stanowczo mogę polecić entuzjastom filmów porno z elementami horroru. Oglądajcie to na własną odpowiedzialność, a jeżeli podobał wam się "Re-penetrator" Douga Sakmanna z pewnością będziecie zadowoleni. Dla mnie to pozycja obowiązkowa!.

Story of the Eye, written in 1928, is his best-known work; it is unashamedly surrealistic, both disgusting and fascinating, and packed with seemingly endless violations. It's something of an underground classic, rediscovered by each new generation. Most recently, the Icelandic pop singer Björk Guðdmundsdóttir cites Story of the Eye as a major inspiration: she made a music video that alludes to Bataille's erotic uses of eggs, and she plans to read an excerpt for an album. In the opening scene of this movie, a Japanese "schoolgirl" is walking alone on the subway and is snatched by a pervert(dressed in lederhosen for some reason). He takes her back to his hideout where he has several more high school girls tied up. This new arrival turns out to be an undercover cop, however, and she dispatches the pervert with her two weapons--her yo-yo and her see-through panties (the yo-yo is actually a good weapon, but aside from their obvious exploitation value, I'm not so sure about the see-through panties). It turns out the character "Saki" aka "Yo-Yo" aka "Agent See-Through Panties" is a former girl-gang leader who is being forced to work undercover (and wear see-through panties) by the police who have arrested her drug-addict/prostitute mother. For her next assignment she is sent undercover to break up a prostitution ring at the local high school.

Obviously, this is a lot more exploitative than realistic. "Saki" is supposed to be both a female gang boss AND a virgin, but the model-pretty actress who plays her doesn't look remotely like either. For an undercover operative, she also sticks put like a sore thumb in her "new" high school since she insists on wearing the wrong uniform, yelling at her classmates, and fighting with the girls in the dominant clique (her see-through panties don't help either). As usual in Japanese exploitation films, the males at the school are all clueless dorks and/or incorrigible lechers, and both the female "teachers" and the "students" are all played by twenty-year-old girls with perfect bodies (not that I have anything against twenty-year-old Japanese girls with perfect bodies).

I've been checking out a lot of Japanese "pink" films from the 1960's up to the present day ever since reading Jasper Sharp's excellent book "Behind the Pink Curtain". Some are actually pretty good, some aren't so good but are genuinely erotic, and some are neither good nor very erotic but are so weird and perverted they're kind of interesting nevertheless. This definitely doesn't make the first category, but it falls somewhere between the second and the third. If you want to take that as a recommendation, have at it. . .
