Urocza Reese Gilmore ma za sobą traumatyczne przeżycia. Jako jedyna przeżyła strzelaninę w bostońskiej restauracji, gdzie pracowała. Zaczynają ją znów nękać koszmary oraz przytrafiają się jej dziwne rzeczy. Wszystko wskazuje na to, że powraca do niej koszmar sprzed lat. Opieką dla niej staje się pisarz, Brody, który ją wspiera i z którym ma romans.
