This is a free program you can find at
lexcycle.com/download-windows. It reads almost any file type but will not take the avert header off the file when exporting as another file type.

If you got a LIT file and want to convert to a PDF without those annoying headers and footers of ABC/LIT converter or Nova PDF..., then this is for you.

It will open and LIT file and convert it very fast to, pdf, html, ePub, and many more. Works fast and can be used as a reader too. It does not do great with the metadata information but it has basics like author and title.

This is a nicer PDF maker than Calibre, in my opinion, but it sometimes truncates the end of a chapter when going from prc to ePub. So watch out for truncation of a sentence at the end or beginning of a chapter.

This can work as a reader on you computer too.

These program I find invaluable when dealing with the many eBook formats available.

I noticed a lot of pdf files made with ABClit converter and NOVA pdf converter free versions. These leave the advert at the top of the page. So here are several programs to help with reading and converting.

I now am seeing Banners in the PDFs with "ABC Amber Text Converter Trial" These are horrible, horrible! It makes converting them to ePubs without, no kidding, in the middle of a word interruptions, a nightmare.

I have been converting them with MobiPocket Creator, which lifts the header and footers off, yeah! And then I go into the HTML file that it creates, yes MobiPocket puts out both a PRC and a HTML of your file, and edit it. I end up having to delete usually an average of 7 image tags out of the HTML. Can anyone answer me, why do you use this program? A LIT file can be converted to PDF using either Calibre or Stanza with no Banners or Footers, to PRC and HTML with MobiPocket with the same result. All 3 are free! Just go to the websites and they download free! No ads, no banners, no footers or headers. Maybe I am missing something? I must be?

Great program made by a guy that wanted his book to work with his Linux OS, then he made it work for us who use Windows too. (I actually use both) It is so good, I sent him a donation. It has a reader that reads most any format. It imports almost any format and will convert to almost any format. It doesn't remove those pesky headers and footer. It syncs files to your reader. -- Has a eBook reader program that reads most file types, lit, prc, mobi, ePub, pdf, etc... -- It downloads all the metadata for you -- you can change fonts, spacing, etc... -- downloads covers, if it can find them -- does batch converting, so you don't have to do one at a time. -- Organizes your library. -- so much more... etc, etc. It is a free download and comes in Window, Linux and Apple. This is a free program, at this time, and there are some updates but I like this one. This works well to take a html or pdf and convert it to a prc (which is a type of mobi) This only makes PRC and HTML files but the benefit is it gets rid of the "created with ABClit or NovaPDF" or file names in the headers or footers of the PDF files. Also you can edit meta data and add covers. If you got a Kindle or any other MOBI, PRC reader, like a mobi reader for your phone, this is a program you should get. Or even if you read ePubs but are trying to convert those PDFs with headers and footer, this takes them out them use Calibre to make an ePub from the prc. My file is a Windows msi installer.
