FreeDOS to darmowy system operacyjny będący alternatywą dla Microsoft DOS. System ten w przeciwieństwie do swojego pierwowzoru posiada wiele ciekawych funkcji. FreeDOS oferuje między innymi podstawowe wsparcie dla interfejsu USB, posiada klienta sieci BitTorrent, program archiwizujący dane i odtwarzacz multimedialny, a także antywirusa. Ponadto FreeDOS obsługuje system plików FAT32 i duże dyski twarde w trybie LBA (Logical Block Addressing).

FreeDOS is downloaded as an ISO file which is useable as soon as it is burnt onto a CD.
