Albert G. Ster - Tanks. 1914-1918; the log-book of a pioneer (1919).jpg

This is an outstanding replica of a rare, early book on the origin of the combat tank by one of the major pioneers in the field. It is of value to historians, reseachers and anyone interestered in the early, learning days of the tank. Well wtitten and eay to read.

David Fletcher - Tiger! The Tiger Tank, A British View (1998).jpg

A book based almost entirely on British Military Intelligence reports. Some of the data is logically inaccurate, but the book offers lots of detail and information on how things worked. For me this book is a must have, but I can imagine not all modellers want this detailed information on subjects they do not directly need.

Osprey - New Vanguard 01 - Tom Jentz - Kingtiger H eavy Tank 1942-45.jpg

As World War II entered its later stages and Germany was forced increasingly onto the defensive, the need for fast-moving mobile forces lessened and the Wehrmacht required better protected and more powerfully armed tanks. After debacles against the T-34, Hitler and the Panzerwaffe were determined not to be unprepared again. The result of this determination was the production of the heaviest and largest tank to see combat during World War II, the Tiger II or Konigstiger (Kingtiger). This title examines this formidable weapon, covering the problems and controversies surrounding its design and production as well as a detailed listing of every unit that was equipped with the Tiger II.

Osprey - Duel 02 - Stephen A. Hart - Sherman firef ly vs Tiger (2007).jpg

The German Tiger heavy tank was a monster of a machine that dominated the battlefields of Europe. One of the most feared weapons of World War II, the Tiger gained an aura of invincibility that was only shattered by the introduction of the Sherman Firefly during the summer of 1944. Designed by the British to combat the Tiger, the Sherman Firefly was based on the American M4A4 Sherman, but was fitted with a powerful 17-pounder gun which made it a deadly opponent. This book describes the design and development of these two opponents, analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, assessing their tactics, weaponry and training. Gunsight artwork puts the reader 'inside' the tanks during famous battle scenarios, in a victory of superior Allied numbers, tactics and engineering.

Nicola Pignato - Semovente da 75-18 (2010).jpg

The Semovente 75/18 was an Italian self-propelled gun of the Second World War. It was built by mounting the 75 mm Obice da 75/18 modello 34 mountain gun on the chassis of a M13/40 or M14/41 tank. The first 60 were built using the M13/40 chassis and a subsequent 162 were built on the M14/41 chassis from 1941 onwards. The Semovente 75/18 was intended to be an interim vehicle until the heavier P40 tank could be produced.
