Scope
CoP2 is a software for the design of joints in steel structures and composite steel and concrete structures. The calculation methods are based on the design rules of the new EN Eurocodes. CoP2 AME is a special edition that allows to verify joints in composite structures according to EN 1994 including:
Moment resistant beam-to-column joints
Moment resistant beam-to-beam joints
End plate connections
Double web cleated connections
Fin plate connections

CoP stands for "Connection Program".
CoP is an innovative computer program for the calculation of structural joints in steel construction according to Eurocode 3 or DIN18800. CoP is based on the component method which allows for a complete understanding of the joint behaviour. As a result of that, joints may be easily modified (reinforced, stiffened or optimised) according to the requirements of the users. This usually leads to a more economic structural design as the joints are known to be an important factor as far as the global cost of the structure is concerned.
