Scope
CoP2 is a software for the design of joints in steel structures and composite steel and concrete structures. The calculation methods are based on the design rules of the new EN Eurocodes. CoP2 VME is a special edition that allows to verify hollow section joints in steel structures according to EN 1993-1-8 including:
Joints in lattice structures
Simple beam-to-column joints
Welded connections
Reinforced welded connections
Circular, rectangular and square hollow sections according to EN 10210
Other features:
Available in English and German
Scaled 3D-drawings
Automatic input data checks
Full calculation note (PDF), output language independent of user interface language

CoP stands for "Connection Program".
CoP is an innovative computer program for the calculation of structural joints in steel construction according to Eurocode 3 or DIN18800. CoP is based on the component method which allows for a complete understanding of the joint behaviour. As a result of that, joints may be easily modified (reinforced, stiffened or optimised) according to the requirements of the users. This usually leads to a more economic structural design as the joints are known to be an important factor as far as the global cost of the structure is concerned.
