Postal 2 to sequel jednej z brutalniejszych i najkrwawszych gier jakie kiedykolwiek powstały na PC, stworzony przez ten sam, wzbudzający wiele kontrowersji zespół - Running With Scissors.

Tym razem gra wykorzystuje najnowszy, stworzony przez Epic Games engine graficzny - UNREAL™ Warfare Engine, co sprawia, że wszystko wygląda o wiele bardziej realistycznie niż w pierwowzorze. Zastosowanie takiego rozwiązania spowodowało, iż tym razem akcję obserwujemy nie z góry jak to miało miejsce w pierwowzorze, a z oczu bohatera, w którego dane nam jest się wcielić (FPP).

W Postal 2 do dyspozycji gracza oddanych zostało ponad 20 misji dla pojedynczego gracza. Pistolet, shotgun karabin maszynowy - to tylko podstawowe środki eksterminacji przeciwników, które dostępne są dla naszego bohatera. Oprócz nich może on wykorzystać jeszcze parę innych śmiercionośnych zabawek – kilka znanych z pierwszej części gry jak również całkowicie nowe.

Darmowy, udostępniony przez autorów gry zestaw narzędzi (edytor, itp.) pozwala na tworzenie własnych modyfikacji, a tym samym jeszcze bardziej urozmaica i uatrakcyjnia zabawę.
