Znany m.in. z serialu "Breaking Bad" Bryan Cranston tym razem wciela się w agenta federalnego Roberta "Boba" Mazura, który pod przykrywką ma zinfiltrować organizację przestępczą Pablo Escobara. Mężczyzna udaje biznesmena Boba Musellę, który zajmuje się praniem brudnych pieniędzy. W misji pomaga mu impulsywny agent Emir Abreu (John Leguizamo). W zespole jest jeszcze młoda agentka, która udaje narzeczoną Muselli - Kathy Ertz (Diane Kruger). Mazurowi udaje się zaprzyjaźnić z jednym z głównych szefów Escobara - Roberto Alcano (Benjamin Bratt).
