George Nichols (28 de octubre de 1864 - 20 de septiembre de 1927) fue un actor y director de cine estadounidense. Apareció en 221 películas entre 1908 y 1928. También dirigió 103 películas entre 1911 y 1916. Nacido en Rockford, Illinois,

Nichols se inició como actor en 1908, empezando a dirigir para Keystone en 1913, exiliado de Biograph Company como su colega Henry Lehrman y otros actores, entre ellos Mabel Normand y Fred Mace, formando con ellos el núcleo histórico de la productora de Mack Sennett.

Nichols dirigió a Mabel Normand, a Fatty, y a Chaplin en cuatro cortos, sustituyendo a Henry Lehrman, que lo había dirigido en su debut cinematográfico. Sin embargo, la relación profesional entre ambos no fue buena.

La última actuación de Nichols tuvo lugar en The Wedding March (1928), película dirigida por Erich von Stroheim.
