Aplikacja bez banków brzmień Firma XLN Audio znana dotychczas z wirtualnej perkusji Addictive Drums oraz przeznaczonych do tego programu rozszerzeń postanowiła wzbogacić swą ofertę o nowy instrument. Pod nazwą Addictive Keys kryje się coś więcej niż tylko wirtualny fortepian, jako że do dyspozycji mamy tak naprawdę trzy instrumenty, które będą dostępne zarówno osobno – fortepian Studio Grand (Steinway Model D), pianino Modern Upright (Yamaha U3) oraz pianino elektryczne Mark One (Fender Rhodes MK I 73), jak również razem, w pakiecie Studio Collection. Wszystkie trzy instrumenty są oparte na tym samym „silniku”, a różnią się oczywiście zawartością dołączonej biblioteki próbek, jak również elementami kontroli udostępnianymi przez interfejs graficzny. Podobnie jak to ma miejsce w programie Addictive Drums, także każdy z trzech „klawiszy” Addictive Keys daje możliwość regulacji wielu parametrów. Możemy m.in. dowolnie ustawiać mikrofony w wirtualnym pomieszczeniu, jak również zmieniać owe mikrofony. W zależności od instrumentu mamy dostęp do rozmaitych innych parametrów, charakterystycznych np. dla fortepianu czy pianina Rhodes. W oknie EDIT dostępne są także efekty, pozwalające wpłynąć na barwę i charakter instrumentu. Do dyspozycji mamy także tzw. ExploreMaps oraz presety. Instrumenty Addictive Keys są przeznaczone dla komputerów PC (Windows XP/Vista/7) i Mac (OS X 10.5), na których mogą pracować – w środowisku 32- lub 64-bitowym – jako wtyczka (VST/AU/RTAS) lub samodzielna aplikacja.
