Legends of War: Patton's Campaign pozwala na wcielenie się w rolę generała Pattona i poprowadzenie jego dzielnych amerykańskich żołnierzy przeciwko siłom nazistów. Gracz będzie miał możliwość zmiany kart historii, a tym samym wpłynie na przebieg II wojny światowej.
Tytuł charakteryzuje się dwoma odmiennymi trybami gry. Z jednej strony Legends of War jest bowiem strategią pozwalającą na stworzenie armii z własnoręcznie wyselekcjonowanych jednostek. Z drugiej zaś - opartą o system turowy grą taktyczną, w której celem jest pokonanie przeciwnika w jak najmniejszej liczbie tur przy minimalnej liczbie ofiar po własnej stronie.
