History
In ancient times, this area was settled by Celts, Dacians, Sarmatians, and Germanic peoples. It was part of the Dacian Kingdom of Burebista in the first century BC. In the 1st century AD, an Sarmatian tribe known as the Iazyges settled in this region. The connection between the modern Jassic people and the Iazyges is disputed. Most Hungarian scholars claim that they were two different Sarmatian groups, and that the Jassic people are relatives of the Alans and the Ossetians. Others think that the Iazyges either migrated back east onto the steppes in the confusion of the Hun and Avar invasions of the 5th-7th centuries, or the Jassic people were a fresh branch of the Iazyges that had never moved west before and remained throughout this period in what is now southern Russia.
Jászberény - miasto w północnych Węgrzech, około 100 km na wschód od Budapesztu, w komitacie Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok. Leży nad środkowym biegiem rzeki Zagyva, w północnej części Międzyrzecza Dunaju i Cisy (węg. Duna Tisza köze).
Ludność - 28.293 mieszkańców (2001), powierzchnia - 221,35 ha.
Jászberény leży w historycznej krainie Jaszság (Jazygia), od XIII wieku zamieszkanej przez irańskie plemię Jasów (węg. Jász). Jest jej ośrodkiem kulturalnym i administracyjnym.

Mam wrażenie że korona królewska wywodzi się z kultury starożytnych Sarmatów - na tym medalionie, oraz powyżej na rekonstrukcji wizerunku sarmackiej księżniczki wyrażnie widać pierwowzór korony - inspiracja pierwowzoru korony tak jak i Drako oraz kształt zbroi i hełmów może pochodzić z starożytnych Chin

Korona (łac. corona, wieniec) jest najpowszechniejszym atrybutem władzy króla, a czasem księcia, używanym od Średniowiecza. Korona jest noszona na głowie monarchy.
W starożytności rolę korony pełnił wieniec, typowo z liści laurowych. W armii rzymskiej wieńce były nagrodą dla wyróżniających się żołnierzy (funkcjonalny odpowiednik obecnych orderów, np. corona muralis - odznaczenie dla pierwszego, który wdarł się na mury obleganego miasta) i, w zależności od zasług, miały różne kształty i były z innych materiałów (od trawy do złotych listków). Złoty wieniec stał się stąd oficjalnym atrybutem cesarza rzymskiego jako zwierzchnika armii.
W późniejszych czasach koronę wykonywano jako metalową obręcz, zwykle ze złota lub srebra. Korona mogła zawierać również klejnoty i inne elementy dekoracyjne. Raz wykonana korona dla jednego władcy przechodzi na jego następców. W wielu monarchiach wykonywane były zgodnie z nowszą modą nowe korony, czasem stare bywały modernizowane. Najstarsze korony, nawet nieużywane podczas uroczystości koronacyjnych, przechowywane były jako szczególnie cenne relikwie świadczące o kontynuacji historycznej państwa. Podczas procesu koronacji głównym elementem uroczystości jest włożenie korony na głowę monarchy.
Z czasem pojęcie "korony" rozszerzyło się i zaczęło oznaczać całe państwo (np. korona francuska, korona angielska itd. - ale nie korona Francji, Anglii). Korona polska (łac. Corona Regni Poloniae) to obszar należący do Królestwa Polskiego po Unii Lubelskiej, w odróżnieniu od Litwy, czyli Wielkiego Księstwa Litewskiego.
Korona Świętego Stefana - symbol władzy na Węgrzech, a później określenie całych Węgier. Korona Świętego Wacława - jw., ale termin odnosi się do obszaru władanego przez królów Czech (czyli Czechy, Morawy, Śląsk i Łużyce). Termin ten powstał za cesarza Karola IV.
Korona cierniowa - pierścień z gałęzi ciernia, założony na głowę Jezusa na kilka godzin przed jego śmiercią. Przenośnie oznacza trudną sytuację, sprawiającą ból i cierpienia. Nazwą tą nazwano również jeden z gatunków rozgwiazd - zob. korona cierniowa (zwierzę).

This book is part of the Barbarians! series published by Benchmark Books. The book covers the known history of the Scythians and Sarmatians, from their first encounters with the Assyrians to their disappearance from history in the fourth century AD. Along the way, the reader is treated to many excellent color pictures and interesting notes on Scythian and Sarmatian culture.
Now, this book "young adult" book, but don't let that scare you away. In fact, this book is an excellent introduction to these peoples, giving the reader (young or old!) a good understand of them. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the Scythians and Sarmatians.

114 Phalerae from 46 complexes of the Early and Middle Sarmatian Culture of the Eurasian steppes were investigated, dating from ca. 300 B.C. to A.D. 150. Criteria of the analysis were changes in the composition and the motifs of the harnesses. Six stylistic groups were defined [1: Ionic, 2: Bosporanian, 3: Graeco-Bactrian, 4: graphic style Black Sea region, 5: polychrome-zoomorphic, 6: zoomorphic style northern Black Sea Region]. They belong to two periods, namely groups 1-4 to Hellenistic [3rd to 1st century B.C.] and 5-6 to Early Roman times [1st to mid 2nd century]. According to their fastening shoulder, breast and bridle phalerae are distinguished, each of which occur in several modes of fastening. Also, three sets of harness elements are reconstructed which have a different distribution in time and space [set I: region of Kuban and lower river Don, east of the river Don, Hellenistic period; II: North-Pontic steppes, west of the river Don, 2nd to 1st century B.C.; III: region of the rivers Volga and Don, lower river Don, end of 1st to 3rd century A.D.]. The place of deposition of the phalerae changed from the grave into the upper layers of the tumulus and back into the grave again.

As these tribes called themselves, we do not know. The Greeks and Romans Sarmatians called them, which translates to davnoiranskoyi as "girded with the sword."Herodotus claimed that the ancestors lived Sarmatians Scythians east of the river Tanais(Don). He also told the legend that Sarmatians are descended from Amazon, which took Scythian youths. However, well fluent in the language of menthey could not speak because Sarmatians corrupt Scythian language. Parttruth in the statement "the father of history" are: Sarmatians, Scythians as belonging to Iranian group of people, and they had very high status of women.
Check-Black Sea steppes Sarmatians was peaceful.They destroyed the remains of the Scythian population and turned most of thetheir country for the desert. Later in Sarmatia, as they called these lands Romans, there is some Sarmatian tribal unions: Aorsy, Sirak,Roksolana, Yazigi, Alans.
Settling in the Ukrainian steppes Sarmatians were attacking neighboring province of Rome, ancient city-states and towns farmers-glorify `yan Zarubyntsi steppe culture. Evidence of attacks on Slav were numerous finds of Sarmatian tips of arrows during excavations Shaft Zarubynec'k hillforts.
Sarmatians were cattle-nomads. Required products agriculture and handicraft products they received from strangers by neighbors exchange of tribute and the usual violence. The basis of such relations was a military advantage of the nomads.
Great importance in the life of the Sarmatians had war suburbs and prey.
