Anton Corbijn (3)

Anton Corbijn (Strijen, Países Bajos; 20 de mayo de 1955) es un fotógrafo y director de videos musicales, entre ellos "Personal Jesus" de Depeche Mode (1989), "One" de U2 y "Heart-Shaped Box" de Nirvana (1993).

Corbijn comenzó su carrera como fotógrafo durante un concierto en 1972. En 1979 se mudó a Londres, donde empezó a trabajar con bandas de rock como Joy Division y Public Image Ltd. Durante este período Corbijn también inició su trabajo como fotógrafo para prestigiosas revistas como Vogue y Rolling Stone.

Después de convertirse en un importante fotógrafo, Corbijn también decidió hacer videos musicales.

Desde 1993 es el encargado de diseñar las escenografías que la banda inglesa Depeche Mode ocupa en sus giras mundiales.

Corbijn dirigió la película Control sobre la vida del cantante de Joy Division Ian Curtis estrenada en 2007. La película está basada en el libro de Deborah Curtis Touching From A Distance sobre su difunto esposo.

Corbijn tiende a dejar a un lado la fotografía glamour tradicional, dándole a su trabajo un toque más natural, frecuentemente en blanco y negro. La gente a la que fotografía da la impresión de estar calmada y lejos de la vida cotidiana. Sus fotografías muestran emociones naturales. Su patentado e influyente estilo de imágenes en blanco y negro ha sido imitado o copiado a tal punto en que se ha convertido en un cliché del rock y una parte vital del lenguaje visual en los años 1990.

En 2005, Palm Pictures lanzó una colección en DVD del trabajo de Corbijn como director de videos musicales. Además de un cuadernillo de 56 páginas, el DVD también incluye escenas cortadas, cortos y documentales comentados en los videos por los artistas. wiki
